We are Jenny and Jeanette. We grew up in totally different parts of the country with different traditions, upbringings and life paths. Our unique journeys, our love for family, friends and soaking in the best life has to offer has brought us closer as friends. Our marriages, career paths, and becoming moms have strengthened this friendship!

Our husbands grew up in a small town as best friends and we couldn’t help but relate to so many situations together. Some were funny, some were struggles, but through it all we have learned a lot about friendship, taking care of ourselves and our family, and exploring the world. In this lifestyle blog we are happy to share with you the unique journey life has taken us, from two completely different backgrounds, and many great stories that have come along the way! We will share our inspiration for traveling , fun fashion, DIY projects, and everything life throws at us through our own eyes in hopes that it will be fun, inspiring and true to some of you go along your unique journey as well.

Jeanette

My name is Jeanette Metz. You can usually find me exploring the outdoors, working on a new DIY project for my home or for the kids, or planning our next adventure. I grew up in Reno, Nevada and although I have lived here my whole life, I have been fortunate enough to have traveled much of the world and have experienced a lot out of my comfort zone which has allowed me to grow and adapt to the many curve balls that life loves to throw our way. I love to travel and explore Nevada and share some of the area’s best kept secrets on the blog.

I met my husband in college and we got married in beautiful Lake Tahoe in 2011. We now have two fun rowdy boys, Hunter (6) and Hudson (4). Motherhood has been an incredible journey that I never expected. My career has evolved since becoming a mom; from working full-time with a baby, to stay-at-home mom with one, then two kids, then going to grad school with two toddlers and now finding a good balance working part-time. It has been a wild ride but I have learned a lot about balancing family, friendships, love and the importance of following my own dreams.

Jenny

Hello!  My name is Jenny Sutich.  I am a mid-west girl at heart who was born and raised in the small town of Goshen, Indiana.  After living in 3 states (Indiana, Kansas and Iowa) I decided to take a leap of faith in 2012 and head out west to the Biggest Little City; Reno, NV, where my husband is from.  I have learned to love the mountains, but if I had it my way, you would find me living near the ocean.  Somedays my heart still longs for a good Midwest thunderstorm and the color green. A couple years after moving to Nevada, I got married to the love of my life in 2014 and now have two beautiful children, Jett (4 years old) and Kohlaya (18 months).  They are my whole world!

As you get to know me, you will realize I am someone who appreciates the small things in life and laughing until it hurts. I love people and listening to people’s stories because everyone has a story that makes them who they are today. I like to embrace new experiences and live life to the fullest.

I started my professional life as an educator 11 years ago, teaching students in Indiana, Iowa, and Nevada.  During that time I coached cross-country and track for 5 years at the middle school and high school levels.  Two years ago I stepped out of the teaching world for the first time, which was a big adjustment for me, to become a stay-at-home mom.  Even though being a stay at home mom is a huge undertaking, I wouldn’t change it for the world!  I still have a passion for teaching and fortunately, I am able to utilize my teaching skills as a mother.  You will never stop teaching your children.

Some of my favorite things include:  family time, traveling the world, shopping, running, crafting, concerts and watching sporting events (Go Colts, Boilermakers and White Sox).  We are a house divided so my other half cheers for the Steelers, Wolf Pack and Yankees.  Somehow we make it work.

Guilty Pleasures:  Cupcakes, chocolate, cheese and watching the Bachelor/Bachelorette on Monday nights.
